Phoenix Women's Commission International Women's Day Scholarship for Reentry Women
DeVry has recently been awarded funds from the City of Phoenix Equal Opportunity Department to participate in the Phoenix Women's Commission International Women's Day Scholarship for Re-Entry Women Award Program.
These scholarships are to be awarded to female undergraduate college reentry students or to women who are beginning their educational studies and have been out of high school for more than three years.
The scholarship award can be applied toward tuition, books, transportation, clothing, childcare, and other related expenses. Awards will be $500 to $1,500 based on a demonstrated need for assistance and will be disbursed in the Fall and Spring semesters.
Other applicant requirements include:
- Must be registered or accepted to begin a course of study at an institute of higher education and pursuing an undergraduate degree or technical training
- Must demonstrate a need for financial assistance (Consideration will be given to income, financial hardships, and other obstacles which impact the applicant's ability to obtain an education.)
- Must reside within the city limits of Phoenix, Arizona and be a citizen of the United States
- Must have a minimum of 2.50 grade point average based on high school or current college transcripts
Scholarship award recipients are eligible to seek continuance in the program on an annual basis. They must reapply, qualify, and meet all award criteria. Up to five (5) awards can be made to an individual student over a minimum five (5) year time span.
To apply, print a copy of the PHWS application form, complete it, and submit it to the Student Finance Department at the Phoenix Campus. Two letters of reference must be submitted with the application.
