Student Handbook - Transfer to Another DeVry
A student desiring to transfer from DeVry-Phoenix to another U. S. DeVry must file a request no later than Friday of the tenth (10th) week of the prior semester with the Transfer Coordinator, in the Student Services Office. Exceptions to the deadline will be made for those students with special circumstances. All grades and credits earned at one DeVry will be carried forward to the new Institute.
A student's financial obligation to DeVry-Phoenix must be fulfilled before the transfer will be permitted. Fulfillment of financial obligation means that a student must be current on EDUCARD payments and non-delinquent in all other assessed financial charges.
Such transfers are granted at the conclusion of the term and at no other time. It will be necessary for the transferring student to sign a new enrollment agreement/contract before the commencement of classes at the new Institute.
A student on academic or disciplinary probation will continue on probation at the new school, but is eligible to transfer. A student not eligible to continue at his/her present Institute due to academic, financial, or disciplinary suspension will not be eligible for transfer.
Transfer To A Canadian DeVry:
A student desiring to transfer to a Canadian DeVry must file a request with the Transfer Coordinator in the Student Services Office. The student's request to transfer and transfer paperwork will then be sent to the Transfer Coordinator at the appropriate Canadian DeVry. The student's present school file, including transcripts, admission application, financial aid documents and a statement of the student's financial account will be sent to the appropriate Canadian school by the tenth (10) week of the prior semester for evaluation.
The most important consideration in the evaluation process will be the student's academic record and financial security. A transfer student must have a minimum 2.0 grade point average, have a zero-balance financial account at DeVry-Phoenix and show means of self-support while in Canada.
American students cannot work in Canada. In addition, American financial aid is not awarded for use in Canada. American students are also required to pay full cash at the beginning of each semester at the Canadian DeVry schools.
A student's immigration papers, available from the Canadian Consulate, must be completed and forwarded to the appropriate Canadian DeVry. The Immigration Office in Canada will require proof of financial support and a statement of health as well as student immigration papers.
DEVRY MAY NOT DISCLOSE INFORMATION REGARDING STUDENTS UNLESS A WRITTEN REQUEST IS SUBMITTED TO THE REGISTRAR'S OFFICE WITHIN TWO (2) WEEKS AFTER THE FIRST DAY OF CLASS. A SEPARATE REQUEST MUST BE SUBMITTED EACH TERM.
